First impressions…

  • A GPS is useless in the old town
  • Pedestrians and drivers don’t pay much attention to the rules or to each other
  • Dirty streets

Don’t miss…

  • Boat tour around the old town

Next time…

  • Won’t be a next time for us

If you drive…

  • Don’t!

Bottom line…
The Strasbourg Christmas market is supposed to be the largest in France. It is in several locations scattered around the old town. It’s comparable to other large Christmas markets, but there’s nothing unique that would draw us back. This may be unfair to Strasbourg since we were there only 2 nights, but it’s the only place in all our travels where we have witnessed violence and felt uneasy ourselves after dark. Our reservation was for 3 nights, but we left a day early.
