Impressions…
- We only spent one night in Bogliasco on our way from the Milan airport to Cortona, so we didn’t get to know much about the city. We chose it because it’s on the west coast of Italy and we’ve heard about how beautiful it is. The views from our B&B were well worth making this stop.
- We stayed in an agriturismo – a B&B that has some connection to agriculture. Agriturismo le Pale had a greenhouse. I’m not sure how much agriculture is needed to qualify for agriturismo status.
- Bogliasco is built on a steep hill coming up from the sea. Getting to our B&B was interesting. We had to ring the office from the gate. They opened the gate and sent a 2-person monorail down to the small parking area. We loaded our luggage into the monorail and they brought us up.
- They have a restaurant at the B&B, but it was closed the night we were there. We had to walk down many, many steps to find a restaurant.
If you drive…
- Be prepared to stop and go while going up steep hills. Get a small car, or pay extra for an automatic transmission.

- We were not there long enough to get a good indication of this.
Priority for a repeat visit (1-5): 3

- It would be interesting to see more of the west coast. If we go back to Cortona it might be worth spending several nights.
